Jurassic World Construction Sets Review (LEGO)

Jurassic World Construction Sets
What It Is

There are more adventures to be had in Jurassic World when you build new Jurassic World LEGO construction sets. There are three new ones: Dilophosaurus on the Loose, Baryonyx Face-Off: The Treasure Hunt

Dilophosaurus on the Loose, model number 75934, comes with 168 pieces for building a dinosaur capture scene. The new-for-2019 Dilophosaurus figure has escaped, and it's up to the Owen Grady minifigure to capture the dino. Climb aboard the drone and use its net-shooting function to save the Hudson Harper and Park Ranger minifigures from getting chomped. The drone helicopter features a minifigure cockpit and four spinning rotors. You also get to build a market stall shaped like a dinosaur head with a display container, four posters, a flag, two popcorn boxes, two hats, and other assorted elements.

Baryonyx Face-Off: The Treasure Hunt, model number 75935, includes 434 pieces for sending the Owen Grady and Claire Dearing minifigures through the jungle. Will they catch up to the Danny Nedermeyer and Sinjin Prescott minifigures? Or will the posable Baryonyx dinosaur figure get to them first? A Red the dog figure is also included. The characters go on their treasure hunt in an offroader with space for two minifigures and an attachment point for a trailer that has a rooftop antenna and buildable interior. Swing open the side panel to reveal a bed, computer workstation, and other accessories. To set the scene, build a jungle area with a treasure chest reveal function. There are a lot of gems inside the treasure chest.

And Triceratops Rampage, model number 75937, is a 447-piece construction set that lets kids build and roleplay a Triceratops escape. Of course, you get a posable Triceratops dinosaur figure that is new for 2019, as well as a collapsible fence so the dino can go free. And what will the dinosaur terrorize? The people on the Egg Spinner ride. It has three dinosaur egg seats for minifigures, a spinning function with the turn of a knob, plus a gate and waiting area for the ride. There are four new-for-2019 minifigures of Owen Grady, Simon Masrani, Allison Miles, and a tourist. Owen can hop in the buggy and use the carrot on a stick to lure the Triceratops back into its lair.

With the exception of Sinjin Prescott, all of the minifigures in these construction sets have two facial expressions.

Is It Fun?

All of these sets have great details and moving parts to give fans the opportunity to collect favorite characters and dinosaurs, as well as play out favorite moments from the Jurassic World movies. For kids, especially, these sets will inspire a lot of imaginative play.

Who It’s For

Dilophosaurus on the Loose is for ages 6 and up. Baryonyx Face-Off and Triceratops Rampage are for ages 7 and up. All of these will appeal to Jurassic World and LEGO fans.
