OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

The original Pomsies were furry pom-pom creatures that you could wear and take anywhere. Now the Pomsies have a bit more magic with the Pomsies Lumies. You can't wrap them around your arm like the originals, but you can place them against your shirt sleeve and watch them light up in a matching color.

Turn on one of these fuzzy creatures by pressing its nose, and it's ready to pick a color. Press the sensor button against any colored object and watch as the Lumies pet lights up to match. You'll also hear different reactions depending on how the Lumies pet feels about its color. For instance, when we tried making it match black, it said, "You're kidding, right?"

There are also games to play with the Lumies. Press its nose to enter a music mode where the more colors you touch, the more instruments get added to the music.

Press the nose again to switch to a Lumie Says game. Your Lumies pet will flash a series of colors, and you must remember the color pattern and touch the pet to the same colors in the same order. (You'll need to have objects of varying colors handy.)

The next game is a Color Chase game. The Lumies pet will glow a color, and you have to find and touch a matching color as fast as you can. How many colors can you grab before time runs out?

The last game is Rainbow Tag. Pick a colored object, and when your Lumies pet lights up with that same color, touch it to make the colors match. The longer you play, the faster the lights flash.

There are also special color codes that unlock secret sounds. Two are provided in the instructions and there are more at the Pomsies website.

There are three Pomsies Lumies to collect: Pixie Pop, Sparkle Rush, and Dazzle GoGo. Each one has soft white fur with shimmery ears and unicorn horns, plus multi-colored manes. Style their manes with the included comb/barrette. A plastic clip on the top of each one makes them easy to attach to a bag or belt loop for taking on the go.

Is It Fun?

Kids will think it's really magical that these light up with whatever color they touch. And with all the different games you can play with them, they are very interactive. For fans of the original Pomsies, these just offer a different way to play and collect.

Who It’s For

Pomsies Lumies are for ages 3 and up.

What To Be Aware Of
