OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Babies can stack and explore magnetic forces with Tegu's baby and toddler line of magnetic wooden toys. There are a variety of products in the line all made from solid wood construction with non-toxic water-based finishes. Each toy is sold separately.

The Swivel Bugs are almost like a baby fidget toy. Twist and pull the wings, and then flip them back into place to hear the magnets "click". An internal elastic cord lets babies experiment with tension, while working fine motor skills.

The Magnetic Floating Stacker toy is like a traditional stacking toy but with built-in magnets. Each colorful piece can be stacked over the pegs. There are white circles on the top of each piece and green circles underneath. You can stick green circle to white circle, but if you flip a piece and try to stick white circle to white circle, the magnetic forces will repel. Two wooden people pieces can be stacked at the very top of the pegs and offer some imaginative play.

Little ones can also build their own train set with the Magnetic Tegu Tram. There are three magnetic cars, each with a magnetic Tegu person and two magnetically interchangeable parts. In this set, the white circles on each piece will only magnetically stick to green circles on other pieces. Build and connect the train cars however you want and roll it along on its real rolling wheels.

Is It Fun?

These toys will inspire creative play and exploration for babies and toddlers. The youngest babies will have fun seeing what the Swivel Bug can do, while older babies will have fun building and playing with the train. All three of these keep kids engaged in classic play as they experiment with how the pieces go together and create their own fun stories for what they've built.
