If your action-packed game of Capture the Flag has extended into the evening hours, no worries! With Capture the Flag Redux, the game pieces glow in the dark, giving players the opportunity to play outside even as the sun goes down. It's blue team versus green team, with each player wearing a light up team bracelet. Use the light-up red territory lights to divide the playing field in half. Then each team uses their light-up jail markers to create a six-foot by six-foot jail on the ground. Each team places its colored orb, what stands in as the flag in this version, on its side of the dividing line. And then when everyone is ready, you cross the line to steal your opponent's orb.
If you get tagged, you're sent to jail and can only be freed when one of your teammates tags you. And no, you can't stand right next to your orb to protect it. The game rules state you must be at least 15 feet away from your team's orb and jail. If you have the opposing team's orb, you've got to get back to your team's side to win.
Because so many kids can play this game together, it would make a fun birthday party activity or game to play at any outdoor gathering. Having all of the pieces light up makes it look really cool, especially when played in low light situations, and it makes the classic game a little more exciting. And it's active play, a great way to get the whole family moving and having fun outside. Plus with different variations of Capture the Flag as well as totally new games to play, kids don't have to play the same thing every time.
The game is for four to 10 players ages 8 and up.
The game includes two glowing orbs (flags), eight jail markers, five territory lights, and 10 team bracelets (five green and five blue). There are also 12 cards with instructions for game variations and new games that can be played with the game pieces.
Do not play in complete darkness.
Batteries are included. To replace, use CR1220 watch-style batteries.
