OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Get ready to explore the origins of your favorite Transformers with Transformers War for Cybertron Siege action figures based on the upcoming Netflix series, Transformers War for Cybertron. Some of these new TV show action figures include Voyager Class Soundwave and Micromaster Laserbeak & Ravage. We're reviewing these together because in the world of Transformers, Laserbreak & Ravage are allies of Soundwave. And these two toy sets are actually compatible, though each is sold separately.

Soundwave is a 6.5-inch action figure that goes from robot to Cybertronian spacecraft in 25 steps. (The instructions are hidden in the package.) It comes with two weapon accessories that can be combined to build a USW HF Sonic Compression Mega-Blaster. The action figure has boombox-esque styling on its blue and silver body, but it looks a little battle-worn. There's an opening cassette deck on the chest.

Laserbeak & Ravage are a two-pack of transforming mechanimal figures. Each one turns into a cassette tape in four to seven steps. The cassette tapes then slide into the tape deck on Soundwave's chest.

Is It Fun?

As always, the transformation feature is difficult, and we wish the picture instructions were better. The smaller figures were easier to transform than the larger one. If you have the patience to get through the transformations, which is what Transformers play is all about, then you'll have fun recreating scenes from the TV show or imagining your own battle stories for these Decepticons.

Who It’s For

These action figures are for Transformers fans ages 8 and up.

What To Be Aware Of

Each of these action figures is sold separately.

The picture instructions for transforming are not always easy to follow.

Laserbeak fit in Soundwave's tape deck better than Ravage.
