EDITOR'S REVIEW
OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Turn the page on lots of fun learning play with the My First Scout Book, a touch-and-feel book that features the cute LeapFrog puppy character Scout. Each page of this soft book has something different for babies to explore, from a plush Scout puppy face on the cover and crinkly flowers and peek-a-boo plants to a child-safe mirror and a smooth fabric pond. You'll find numbers, letters, colors, and shapes on each page, as well as Scout searching for his hidden dog bone in every scene.

But the book is also electronic, so you can turn it on to hear five songs and more than 50 phrases and sound effects all about counting, the alphabet, shapes, and more. Press the button tabs on each page to activate the learning content or press the light-up music note button on the book's dog bone-shaped spine.

Soft handles at the top give baby something to hold onto or tug at, and also make this a good toy for on-the-go play.

Is It Fun?

This makes a cute first book for baby with lots of textures, colors, and sounds to explore. When parents play along, they can "narrate" the story as shown in the pictures baby sees. Mom and dad can even point out the hidden bones, and as baby gets older, create a bone-hunting game for baby.

Who It’s For

This baby toy is for ages 3 months and up.

What To Be Aware Of

This includes two AAA batteries for the in-store try-me features, so we recommend replacing them before you play for best results.

This toy has two levels of volume.
