Soft Glow Nightlight & Timer Review (Dr. Brown's)

Soft Glow Nightlight & Timer
What It Is

Help manage the "afraid of the dark" moments and time and behavior with the Soft Glow Nightlight & Timer. This dual-functioning product emits a soft glow in one of eight colors to provide a soothing sleep space as a nightlight or a time and behavior management tool at home or in the classroom.

Use the buttons on the bottom of the unit to select the mode and color. In Nightlight mode, you can choose one of eight color options that will stay lit until the unit is manually turned off or after 30 minutes. Its rounded shape means baby can see it from all angles. Its compact size means you can easily hold it and take it on the go.

Switch to Timer mode and select one of the preset colors and timers. Green stays lit for one minute, pink for two, purple for three, red for five, blue for 10, orange for 20, and fuchsia for 30. Once the light goes off, you've indicated to your child that the activity is over.

Unlike other nightlights, this one stays cool to the touch, so you don't have to worry about your baby holding or wanting to explore it.

Why Is It Useful?

The manufacturer says you can use the Timer mode to wake up your baby, though we're not really sure how that would work. It doesn't play sounds to alert a child; the lights just turn off. If used in Timer mode, this is probably more useful as a way to transition children from one activity to the next or even as a visual marker of how long a child has to spend in a time out. We can definitely see this being more functional as a nightlight.

Who It’s For
