My Peek-a-Boo LapPup Review (LeapFrog)

My Peek-a-Boo LapPup
What It Is

Open up a world of learning possibilities with the My Peek-a-Boo LapPup. With more than 50 learning activities and songs, this toy will introduce babies to numbers, counting, colors, and shapes all while working fine motor skills.

Available in LeapFrog's two puppy characters, Scout and Violet, the pups uncover their eyes when you open the LapPup and cover their eyes as the LapPup closes. You'll also hear phrases about opposites each time you open and close the toy.

When the LapPup is open, engage in more peek-a-boo play by pressing the bone button. This will cover and uncover the pup's eyes.

Also when the LapPup is open, you'll see three number buttons in different shapes and colors along with five colorful crayon-shaped buttons. The number and shape buttons play rhymes about shapes, colors, and numbers when you press them. And the crayon buttons play phrases and songs about colors. The pup character might even prompt kids to press a specific button, such as the red crayon. Underneath these buttons is a green musical space bar. Press it for three learning songs about letters, shapes, colors, and numbers. And as the phrases and songs play, the keys and the pup's face light up.

There's also a sliding mouse on the side of the LapPup that makes a clicking noise as baby slides it up and down.

A handle on the side of the toy makes it easy to carry this for learning play on the go.

Is It Fun?

This is a colorful and engaging way to introduce babies to numbers, colors, and shapes while also promoting the development of fine motor skills through all that button pressing. The lights are visually stimulating, and it's really cute to play peek-a-boo with the pups. Especially as babies become toddlers and see their own parents working on a laptop, they'll like having a laptop of their very own to mimic mom and dad and have some roleplay fun. This will be fun to play with at home or on the go.
