Dualfit Harness-2-Booster Seat Review (Britax)

Dualfit Harness-2-Booster Seat
What It Is

Keep growing kids safe in the car with the Dualfit Harness-2-Booster Seat. This forward-facing car seat can be used in harness and booster modes to accommodate a growing child. The seat can be reclined for comfort, but it's also helpful in ensuring a proper fit in your car. And the eight-position headrest easily adjusts with no harness rethreading to ensure it is at the proper height for your child. A two-position buckle also adjusts for your child. The five-point safety harness has padding at the shoulders and at the buckle to keep your child comfortable.

When it's time to transition to a booster seat, the buckle folds down underneath the seat pad and the harness straps get folded away in the side wing covers, little pockets on the side of the outer shell. You can also completely remove the harness and buckle, but the storage option makes it easy if you think you'll need to transition the car seat back to a harness seat at some point. With the harness out of the way, your child can be buckled into the booster seat using your vehicle's lap and shoulder belt.

You can install this car seat using LATCH or the vehicle seatbelt. A green belt path guide makes it clear where to thread the belt. The V-shaped tether gets attached to the anchor point in your car, and this has a two-strap design and staged-release stitches to slow and reduce forward movement during a crash. Two layers of Side Impact Protection also shield your child in case of a crash, and there's an integrated steel frame and impact-absorbing base.

And the car seat has two cup holders to make it easy for kids to bring their water, milk, or juice on the go. (And reach it without mom or dad having to do a pass-back.)

Why Is It Useful?

Parents will like the convenience of having a forward-facing car seat and booster seat in one. It's always nice when you don't have to go out and buy yet another seat. It's easy to transition, and in both modes, you get the safety and comfort features that Britax is known for.

Who It’s For

In harness mode, this can be used with children at least 2 years of age weighing between 25 and 65 pounds with a height between 30 and 49 inches. In booster mode, this is for children between 40 and 100 pounds with a height of 45 to 58 inches.

What To Be Aware Of

In terms of installation, the LATCH system is designed to make it easier for parents to install car seats. However, with this seat you cannot use LATCH for a child weighing more than 45 pounds. In that case, you'll need to use the vehicle seat belt. Unlike other Britax car seats, this one does not have a built-in lock-off for the vehicle belt. When installing using the seatbelt, make sure your vehicle has a seat belt that can be locked. If you are unsure of anything regarding installation, locate a car seat safety technician in your area who can check your work and make sure you have properly installed the seat. In most instances, a car seat safety check is free.

This seat is certified for use in an aircraft when in harness mode.

The fabric cover can be removed, but it is not machine washable.
