Marvel Avengers Nerf Assembler Gear Review (Hasbro)

Marvel Avengers Nerf Assembler Gear
What It Is

A lot has changed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Hasbro first released its Nerf Assembler Gear last year. To prepare for the upcoming Avengers: End Game movie, the character-based product already in the Nerf Assembler Gear line is getting a refresh while new characters are being added.

The four biggest sets in the line are for Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, and Hulk. Each Nerf Assembler Gear product is a blaster that can be reconfigured in different ways with pieces that mix and match among all Nerf Assembler Gear products.

Iron Man's comes in three parts. There's a gauntlet with a handlebar on the bottom that you hold onto, and then it looks like you're wearing a "glove". There's also the blaster part of the toy with three red Nerf darts and a third piece that looks like a blade with possibly repulsor beams attached to it.

The Captain America one also has three parts: a moveable shield and two parts that combine to create a long blaster. Three blue Nerf darts are included.

Black Panther has a claw-like gauntlet with built-in blaster, and two additional blade-like weapon pieces. There's a handle on the bottom of the gauntlet for you to hold onto during play. This comes with three purple Nerf darts.

And this year the Hulk Nerf Assembler Gear doesn't come with regular Nerf darts. To match the power and fury of the great green character, this redesigned blaster includes one big green-and-purple missile dart. The set includes the blaster itself and two accessory pieces, one of which looks like there's water or bubbles on it.

Is It Fun?

We know that in the new movie, the Avengers have special "End Game" outfits (illustrated on the packaging of these toys), but we don't know yet what the new weaponry will be. So we can only guess as to what all of these toys mean. What we don't have to guess about is how much fun Avengers fans will have pretending to be just like their favorite superhero blasting away the bad guys. You don't get a whole lot of distance with these blasters, about 15 to 20 feet. But for younger kids, the Nerf Assembler Gear line is a fun combination of roleplay and Nerf play, and kids will really like the customization and pretend play.

Who It’s For

The new Nerf Assembler Gear is for fans ages 5 and up.
