Mego Legends Review (Mego)

Mego Legends
What It Is

Mego expands its Mego Legends series of action figures for 2019 with the introduction of these six new legends: Muhammed Ali, Farrah Fawcett, Bruce Lee,  Marilyn Monroe, Joe Namath, and Elvis Presley.

Last year, Mego returned to the toy aisles with its legendary action figures. These new eight-inch figures continue the legacy with the same retro stylization Mego has become known for. Each Mego Legends action figure boast 14 points of articulation and is dressed in an iconic outfit.

Starting with the Greatest, he floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee, there's the Mego Legends Heavyweight Champion of the World, Muhammed Ali. This sports and civil rights legend features a look straight from the ring; he wears his championship belt, warm-up robe, and gloves.

Next up is actress and beauty icon, Farrah Fawcett. Known to many for her role in the television series Charlie's Angels, Farrah is dressed in her famous red swimsuit from her 1976 photoshoot. There's even a miniature version of the famous poster along with the backdrop blanket included.

Bruce Lee is essentially the OG action hero that taught today's adults how to fight, so it only makes sense the action super star is depicted here as a Mego Legends figure. This figure features Lee in his iconic look from the legendary film Enter the Dragon, with black pants, nunchucks, and battle wounds.

The Mego Marilyn Monroe figure features the Hollywood heartbreaker and, perhaps, the most legendary blond bombshell of all time in her famed look from  The Seven Year Itch. Very few movie moments are as memorable as Monroe's billowing dress from the film.

In the Mego sports arena, it's first and 10 and legendary N.Y. Jets quarterback Joe Namath just received the snap. Broadway Joe is dressed in his famous No. 12 jersey and includes shoulder pads, a helmet, and a signed football (so you can at least pretend you grabbed Joe's autograph).

Elvia fans are also going to get "All Shook Up" as the Mego Elvis Presley enters the stage with a mic in hand. The King is dressed in his legendary Aloha from Hawaii jumpsuit.

Is It Fun?

Many of these legends left us way too soon but thankfully Mego has brought them back for fans to enjoy. Collectors will love the retro look of these figures, which stay true to the original Mego action figures of the 70s and 80s while adding the perfect details and accessories to bring these fan-favorite stars to life.

Collectors may prefer to keep the figures in package to preserve their collectibility but taking them out of the box is perfect for striking the equally iconic poses and moves of each Legend.

Who It’s For

The Mego Legends 2019 series figures are for ages 8 and up. They will appeal to collectors and fans of Mego and these iconic superstars.
