Magical Tales Black & White Gymini Review (Tiny Love)

Magical Tales Black & White Gymini
What It Is

There is plenty of space for baby to play on the Magical Tales Black & White Gymini activity mat. This soft mat is jam-packed with different developmental activities to keep baby comfy and engaged in play.

There is a musical motion-activated hedgehog that plays three melodies. A badger toy makes a chime sound when baby bats at it. The soft fox makes a rattle sound. Along with a bear, these characters are also printed on the mat itself. Each of these animal creatures actually have names: Marie the hedgehog named after Marie Curie, Christopher the fox named after Christopher Columbus, Nikola the badger named after Nikola Tesla, and Isaac the bear named after Isaac Newton. (However, the manufacturer misspelled Isaac's name on the package.)

A soft take-along book can be laid flat on the mat or tied to the arches to help encourage baby to lift his head and take a look. The bottom edge of the mat has shiny satin ribbon tags, while a star teether can be attached to the top of the mat. The mat also has a plush cloud, a crinkly peek-a-boo tree, a mirror, and a black and white mobile.

You can also adjust the arches so that baby can lay on her back and look up at the toys or enjoy tummy time. And for a baby who can sit up on her own, just remove the arches completely. They snap on and off.

Why Is It Useful?

This is a very comfortable place for baby to explore, work motor skills, and play. Parents will like that the mat can be used in multiple ways and that the mat's black-and-white design with subtle colors isn't too loud or baby-ish for the home decor.
