OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Get ready to crash your way to the top of the car heap with the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks from Mattel. Each 1:64-scale truck features large wheels and unique designs, plus a connect and crash car for playing out some realistic monster truck action. The more trucks you collect, the more cars you can connect for all sorts of crashing and smashing configurations.

Read about each truck's personality on the back of the package and find out it's truck type, strength, crash attack, and "motor-vation". Hotweiler is a green, black, and brown creature truck with teeth bared. It's got big neon yellow wheels and a translucent yellow undercarriage. It's "motor-vation" is "to bury their bones". There's also Zombie-Wrex, a zombie dinosaur creature truck with fangs and claws. It has a fuchsia undercarriage and wants to suck out the brains of its opponents.

Is It Fun?

The movement of the trucks' wheels allows for dynamic crashing and smashing action, which is what Hot Wheels fans will have a lot of fun playing out. The inclusion of the flattened cars makes the play more realistic, and allows kids to set up all sorts of crazy monster truck rallies and battles.
