Toy Story Pizza Planet Embargo 2/14 Review (Mattel)

Toy Story Pizza Planet Embargo 2/14
What It Is

Recreate the fun of the original Toy Story movie with the Imaginext Disney/Pixar Toy Story Pizza Planet. This themed playset comes with a Buzz Lightyear figure and a green alien figure. Turn Buzz on the lower Power Pad to open the Pizza Planet doors. Then turn the playset around to see the interior of the restaurant, complete with green alien claw machine. Use Buzz to turn the top Power Pad and raise or lower the claw. Can you capture and release a green alien through the machine's chute?

The playset also features three moveable alien head soda dispensers, just like in the movie, and a kid-powered elevator for moving figures up and down.

Is It Fun?

This is a fun way to introduce little kids to the world of Toy Story, especially with the fourth movie coming out soon. It's got some fun moving features that help promote adventurous play, whether kids are recreating what they've seen from the movie or making up their own stories for Buzz and the alien.

Who It’s For

The Imaginext Toy Story Pizza Planet playset is for young Toy Story fans ages 3 to 8.

What To Be Aware Of

Additional Imaginext Toy Story figures and playsets are also available and sold separately.

This is an updated version of a very similar product that TTPM first reviewed in 2012. However, this version comes with fewer pieces, so there are certain elements of this playset that don't make sense, such as the target and the ramp that goes behind the green Pizza Planet sign. In the original playset, there was a rocket ship launcher that blasted projectiles at the target. If you were successful at hitting the target, it would trigger a green boulder rolling down the ramp in an attempt to take out the Zurg figure. None of that is included in this playset, and we're not sure if those specific elements will be sold separately.
