Barbie 2019 Career Dolls Review (Mattel)

Barbie 2019 Career Dolls
What It Is

Barbie continues to add to her resume of more than 200 careers with all-new Careers dolls for 2019. This lineup includes not only different careers for kids to explore, but also different skin tones, body types, eye colors, and hairstyles. Each doll is sold separately.

There are more basic dolls, such as Doctor, Pop Star, and Chef, that simply come with a doll wearing a career-inspired outfit and an accessory. The Doctor doll wears a stethoscope, the Pop Star has a microphone stand, and the Chef has a frying pan.

More sports careers are also being added with the Barbie Made to Move Basketball Player. This super poseable Barbie doll has 22 joints, so you can move the neck, upper arms, elbows, wrists, torso, hips, upper legs, knees, and ankles for all sorts of athletic and action-packed poses. The doll wears a blue, pink, and white uniform of tank top and long shorts with pink shoes. And the doll comes with a basketball that she can actually hold.

And there are larger doll playsets that come with a doll and a variety of accessories. The Music Teacher doll in her music note top is teaching the toddler student doll how to play the violin. Both dolls have violin accessories, plus the set includes a dual music stand with sheet music, a double-sided chalkboard, a trumpet, and a flute.

The Chicken Farmer doll comes with a henhouse for the three chickens and two chicks. A basket and egg tray are also included.

The Barbie Musician doll looks like a rock star in a pink mesh dress, studded heels, and silver guitar with pink guitar strap. Change up her look with the additional three-piece metallic outfit, shoes, necklace, and microphone headset.

And the Barbie Gymnastics Coach doll is all about helping the toddler student doll master the balance beam. Each doll is dressed in a sporty leotard outfit, and the beam has a working mechanism that allows the student doll to perform her beam routine, complete with flips.

Is It Fun?

We love the variety of careers in the lineup, as well as the diverse looks of the dolls. There's going to be something to interest and inspire every girl as she plays out different stories and adventures while also exploring what these different careers might be like.
