The Uh-Oh Hippo game is a 2-4 player memory game for kids ages 4+. Players feed Hugo, a cute plastic hippo, some pretty silly things. There are 18 munchies including a dog bone, a trumpet, sunglasses, a toaster, and even underpants. The hippo's mouth features eight slots for players to fill with eight of the plastic munchy play pieces. Players study the pieces to try to remember exactly what they fed him. Then close the hippo's mouth, and he'll swallow one of the pieces. When he opens his mouth again, players take turns guessing which munchy is missing. Shout it out, and press Gary, the bird on Hugo's tail to see what pops out. If a player is correct, he or she keeps the munchy. The first player to get three munchies, wins the game.
The hippo and munchies are pretty silly, which kids will enjoy. The game offers a fun way for preschoolers to work on memorization and visual recognition, as well as social skills and turn taking. Game play is really easy to pick up, and there are a few variations to make it easier or more challenging.
