OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Whether you want to sit or stand, the VIRO Rides Vega 2-in-1 Electric Scooter has you covered. This transforms between scooter and mini bike modes with the push of a button. There are also fold-down foot pegs for use in the mini bike mode. No matter which mode you ride in, the Vega has a thumb control throttle on the adjustable handlebars for variable speeds up to 10 miles per hour. Lever-activated rear safety brakes provide precision braking. The chain drive and motor are fully enclosed, and the covered underside eliminates potential damage from road debris. Keep your Vega upright in either mode with dual kickstands that easily fold away when it's time to ride again. You can also fold up the Vega for easy transport.

Is It Fun?

It's a cool concept to combine a mini bike and scooter in one, giving kids options for how they want to ride. Switching between the two modes isn't the easiest, so kids are probably not going to be able to do it themselves. But it still looks really cool, and kids will have fun getting outside to ride it.

Who It’s For

The Vega is for ages 8 and up with a 120-pound weight limit.

What To Be Aware Of

Adult assembly is required.

The Vega runs on two rechargeable 12V batteries. It takes 10 to 12 hours to fully charge. From a full charge you get 40 minutes of continuous run time or about six miles.

Kids should always wear protective gear when riding.

We found it difficult to switch between modes due to the sliding mechanism getting a bit stuck. The instructions were not super clear. An adult will need to help.
