My First Game Petting Zoo Review (Educational Insights)

My First Game Petting Zoo
What It Is

Can you match the farm animals when you play My First Game Petting Zoo? Use the textured spinner to match and collect your animals from the barn. All six animals get placed inside the barn, and then players take turns spinning the spinner, feeling the texture the spinner lands on, and reaching into the barn to find the animal with the matching texture. If you spin "Animal Feeding Time", skip a turn. If you land on "Wild", you can pick out any animal.

And that's it. The game doesn't say what happens if you pick out the wrong animal, but because this is for toddlers and preschoolers, we're thinking you get to try again. Once all the animals have been retrieved, play the game again.

There are two other ways to play, too. You can give clues about a specific animal, and the other player must retrieve the correct animal or you can take turns reaching into the barn to select an animal and then acting like that animal.

Is It Fun?

This is a really cute game that challenges kids to pay attention to detail and sequence information in steps. The different textures and patterns on each animal provide a great sensory experience for little ones, and we like that there are different ways to play that promote imaginative play, too.
