OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Kids can invent their own moving machine with the Machines in Motion Building Set from Learning Resources. It's a 116-piece construction toy that offers a fun introduction to engineering. The 116 pieces include colorful plastic gears, wheels, treads, axles, pulleys, a wrecking ball, a propeller, and more. Kids can create different interactive machines and vehicles. There are illustrated instructions for three models included. The design possibilities are endless though because kids can create their own working machines using the interchangeable parts. The pieces are also compatible with all other Learning Resources Gears sets for even more construction and play possibilities.

Is It Fun?

This is a great option for boys and girls who like building, and inventing. It offers open-ended building play, and helps kids work on STEM skills, critical thinking, and trial and error.

Who It’s For

This set is recommended for kids ages 5 years old and up. Some five year olds may need help from an adult to build the models illustrated in the instructions.
