OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Grab your pizza the pie when you play the delicious new twist on Monopoly - Monopoly Pizza Game. In this version, you travel around the board buying pizza. When all the pizza spaces on the board have been purchased, the player with the most pizza at the end of the game wins.

The gameboard has the same type of set-up, but instead of properties, you're buying eggplant, pepperoni, or spinach. There is also space for Chance and Community Chest cards with different opportunities that can help you, like collecting an extra slice token, or hurt you, like getting stale cheesy bread and paying the bank for it.

You'll also still find Free Parking and Go to Jail spaces, but Delivery spaces replace the railroads. These allow you to travel to any space on the board, but you have to pay to do it.

One of the most noticeable differences are the game tokens, which are all pizza-themed. You've got a parmesan cheese shaker, a cheese grater, a pizza cutter, a pizza on a slab, a delivery bike, and a pizza chef.

If you own a pizza space and another player lands on it, they pay you the cost to try your pizza as shown on the pizza card. Then you and that player each take one slice token. Some slice tokens add points to your score, while some subtract them. At the end of the game, you add up the points on your pizza cards and slice tokens to see how much "dough" you have.

Is It Fun?

If you're a fan of pizza and Monopoly, then you'll love this new mash-up that Hasbro has cooked up. You could even play it at your next family game night while eating pizza! We almost think that this version plays a little easier (and possibly quicker) than traditional Monopoly, which will be good news for players who thought the original version had "mushroom" for improvement.
