Don't throw out your broken or used-up crayons. Melt them and use them to create again with the Crayola Crayon Melter. It comes with eight crayons and three paper sheets to get you started. The included crayons don't have paper labels on them, but if you're using crayons from home, use the included label cutter to peel off the paper. Break the crayon into pieces (if it's not already) and insert the pieces through the flaps in the cap of the Crayon Melter. Plug the device into a wall outlet and wait for the LED light on the Melter to turn green. That means you're ready to go! Hold the Melter upright with the tip flat on the paper and begin creating. You can create on computer paper, construction paper, ceramic, or craft wood.
One of the included paper sheets is a practice sheet so you can practice making dots, straight lines, squiggly lines, and shapes. It's a great way to get started using the Crayon Melter and understanding all the cool things you can do with it.
There's also a cleaning tool to make sure hardened wax doesn't block the flow of the melted wax.
This is a fun way to give old crayons a second life. We like the way the melted wax looks once it's dry, giving the finished artwork a really nice texture. Kids who enjoy coloring and drawing will enjoy using the Crayon Melter to create crayon-based artwork in a different way.
The Crayola Crayon Melter is for ages 8 and up. It's going to be a fun way to give a second life to old crayons, while also promoting creative play.
Adult supervision is required.
This works with regular, washable, and metallic crayons. Make sure to use unwrapped crayons.
