OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Revisit the land of Oz with The Wizard of Oz Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West figure set from Mego. The two eight-inch figures in this collectible set are packaged together in a diorama display that showcases the Emerald City and yellow brick road in the background. Because this is collectible, some fans might want to keep the figures in the box, but if you do choose to take them out, you'll be happy to know that both figures have 14 points of articulation. That means you can pose them in lots of different ways for display or play.

Dorothy wears the character's signature blue gingham dress with her brown hair in braided pigtails. The doll also wears glittery red shoes and has a basket with Toto accessory to carry. The Wicked Witch is clad all in black, which makes her green skin tone stand out. This figure has a pointy black hat and a broom.

The back of the box provides some information and fun facts about the 1939 movie.

Is It Fun?

This will be appealing to fans of The Wizard of Oz who will like displaying the two dolls, either in or out of package. We thought the Dorothy doll had a fairly decent likeness to Judy Garland, while the Wicked Witch was a little off. These are actually a recreation of the 1975 Mego figures, so this has a bit of double collectability to it. Fans of the movie will like it because it's movie related, while fans of Mego will like it because it reminds them of the originals.

Who It’s For

The Wizard of Oz Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West collectible two-pack is for ages 8 and up, but it will probably have more of an appeal to adult fans.

What To Be Aware Of

Because these are collectible figures, some people may not want to take them out of the box.
