OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Designed for tactile, and imaginative role play, Fisher-Price Food Sets include a Counting Pizza Set, Peanut Butter & Jelly Set, Stacking Burger Set, and Balanced Plate Set. Each set has multiple pieces of pretend food that are fun for role play, tactile learning, and more. The Counting Pizza Set comes with 9 play pieces: a slice of pizza, a plate, five veggies, one juice box and one cheese shaker. The veggie toppings are each numbered one to five for little ones to count, and the cheese shaker makes noise when you shake it. The Peanut Butter & Jelly Set has 5 play pieces: a slice of bread with a surprise reveal, a jar of peanut butter, a jelly bottle, a play knife for spreading, and a banana kids can cut. Spreading the peanut butter and jelly, and slicing the banana offer fun ways to work on fine motor skills. The Stacking Burger Set features 9 play pieces: two burger buns, two burgers, a tomato slice, cheese, lettuce, a ketchup bottle, and a burger toothpick. Each piece of the stackable burger is numbered one to seven for kids to practice counting. The Balanced Plate Set includes 10 pieces- a kabob stacker, pepper, tomato slice, carrot, two corn on the cob pieces, salt and pepper shakers, and apple sauce. The apple sauce features a flip up lid, and the corn on the cob spins. Each set is sold separately and offers a fun way to work on fine motor skills while engaging in imaginative role play.

Is It Fun?

These are well made, fun play food sets that allow kids to take orders, and pretend to prepare, serve and eat food. In addition to imaginative role play, they have an educational factor as they introduce numbers, and counting.  They also offer a fun way to work on fine motor skills as kids stack, and prep the food. Kids will like creating their own recipes, and parents will appreciate that the sets are full of fruits and vegetables to encourage healthy eating habits.

Who It’s For

These sets are recommended for preschoolers ages 3 years old and up. These would be great for playing at home in a play kitchen or on their own. They would also be a great addition to a play kitchen at a daycare or school.

What To Be Aware Of

Each of the four Fisher-Price Food Sets are sold separately.
