OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

It's a spa day your way with the Shimmer 'n Sparkle Spa Creations Bath Bombs Maker. Kids can make up to 20 glittery scented bath bombs shaped like hearts, spheres, and gems with this kit. They can even add surprise charms inside the bath bombs to be revealed when the bath bombs fizz up in warm water.

The kit comes with almost everything you need, though there are a few supplies you'll have to grab from home, such as canola oil and measuring spoons.

The Bath Bomb Maker unit is pretty cool. You use it to mix all of the ingredients together (which is just color, baking soda, cornstarch, water, oil, scent, and glitter), and then you open the bin door and the mixture falls into the mold. Once both sides of the mold are full, you can place in one of the included charms for a hidden surprise, close the mold tightly for a few seconds, slowly open it and remove the shaped bath bomb, and let it dry on a tray for 24 hours. Then, make another one!

Cups are included for helping you make multi-colored bath bombs.

When you're ready to use your bath bombs, place them in a tub of water and watch them fizz. You could also place them on the shower floor for a slower fizz and scent release.

Is It Fun?

Bath bombs are fun to make and use, and this kit's Bath Bomb Maker gives kids a contained space for doing the mixing and molding. The glitter and secret charm surprise are fun additions, making these something that kids might like to give to friends.

Who It’s For

The Shimmer 'n Sparkle Spa Creations Bath Bombs Maker is for ages 8 and up. This will be fun for girls who like DIY activities and spa days.

What To Be Aware Of

The kit includes a bath bomb maker, three two-piece molds, a mold holder, four pouches of bath bombs color mixes, four pouches of baking soda, four pouches of cornstarch, strawberry scent, two glitter vials, four cups, two spoons, a sponge tool, a dropper, and four charms.

You'll need to provide oil (canola, vegetable, almond, avocado, or olive), measuring spoons, a timer, trays, and paper towels.

Assembly is required but is easy to do.

This can be a time-consuming project, mainly because it takes 24 hours for the bath bombs to dry before you can use them.
