Lite-Brite Ultimate Classic Review (Basic Fun!)

Lite-Brite Ultimate Classic
What It Is

The Lite-Brite is back with the new Lite-Brite Ultimate Classic. With retro-inspired styling, it resembles the original Lite-Brite from the 1980s but features a bigger screen, brighter pegs, and more templates. You get 206 pegs and six templates, plus six art guides featuring retro images that you can try to recreate freehand or download on the Basic Fun website.

The letters on the templates tell you what color peg to insert through the paper and into the holes in the peg screen. Once you've completed the image, turn on the Lite-Brite to light it up. There are four different light shows to choose from, from steady to blinking. A kickstand on the back makes it easy for you to display your light-up art.

Is It Fun?

The Lite-Brite is a classic, and today's parents will be happy to see that it's back and looking pretty much the way they remembered it. The play is pretty much the same, too. It's simple and creative fun. The templates give kids an inspiration boost, but kids can also put the pegs into the board to create any design they want, and then put on a cool flashing light show for everyone.

Who It’s For

Lite-Brite Ultimate Classic is for ages 4 and up. Parents who remember playing with Lite-Brite when they were kids will definitely want to get one for their own kids. It's still a fun way to create art with light.
