OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

In the world of Bob Ross, there are no mistakes. Just happy little accidents. And in the Bob Ross Happy Little Accidents Party Game, your mistakes become creative masterpieces. Inspired by the wisdom of legendary painter Bob Ross, players transform abstract shapes and squiggles into pieces of art and earn points for inspired creations.

Each player gets three sheets of blank drawing paper and then draws random doodles onto their papers. When all players are done, the doodles get placed facedown in the center of the playing space. Make sure to mix them up.

To begin a round, each player takes one drawing paper from the center. One player acts as host and draws a card, which has 18 words on it divided into three rounds. Words include "cloud", "TV host", "underwear", "band", "mask", and "toy box". Another player will randomly select a number, and the host finds the corresponding word on the card and reads it out loud. Everyone then has 30 seconds to transform the doodle on their paper into the word. Describe what you drew and then play the second and third rounds.

After the third round, each player submits their favorite of the three drawings they did for voting. Then players use their voting tokens to vote for their favorite drawings. The voting tokens, which are shaped like Bob Ross, have different amounts of squirrels on the backside. You would award three squirrels to your favorite drawing, two squirrels to your second favorite, and one squirrel to your third, fourth, and fifth favorite (depending on how many players there are). Players then tally up their squirrel points, and the player with the most squirrels wins.

Is It Fun?

We like the creativity in this game and think it will be a nice change of pace from other drawing games that might be in your party game rotation. It will be funny to see what people come up with based on the doodles they're given, and that's kind of the point of the game. Don't worry if your finished 30-second drawing isn't perfect. We're sure Bob Ross would approve.
