OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Here's a cool new toy that will make your toddler buggy, and we mean that in the best way. The Sweet Pea Slide, part of the Cuddlebots line from Hexbug. You probably already know Hexbugs, those tiny robots that act like bugs.

For the toddler set, ages 2 and up, the Cuddle Bots take that concept and make it big. At the center of the play is this robotic bug that uses the same motion technology to propel it forward as the original Hexbugs. It can move pretty fast for a little one, which is why we're happy to have this whole playset. It comes fully assembled, and the cell batteries are included.

Turn on your buggy buddy and position it at the top of the slide inside the flower. Then watch as it drops down into the track to run around. Of course it seems simple. It's for a 2-year-old, and there's just the right amount of stimulation and exploration for kids at that age. While the bug is on the loose, kids can play with the bee-shaped bead slider and touch the moveable mushroom. We think kids will be surprised and delighted by the motion and the activity--as well as the vibrating feature of the bug. Overall, this is a creative and unusual toddler toy that integrates great design and engaging play.

Is It Fun?
This is really engaging for preschoolers. The adaptation of the Hexbug technology is pretty ingenious, and kids will get a kick out of the random nature of the bug's movement as well as playing in the more contained playset.
Who It’s For
This is recommended for kids ages 2 years and up. It will appeal to curious preschoolers who find the movement of the bug fascinating...which is pretty much almost all of them, we're guessing.
What To Be Aware Of
The batteries are included.

The Cuddle Bot moves pretty quickly, so for play outside the playset, kids will have to chase it a bit.

If you're playing with the Cuddle Bot outside the playset, it works best on a smooth, hard surface.
