Jurassic World Hot Wheels Cars Review (Mattel)

Jurassic World Hot Wheels Cars
What It Is

You'd probably like to have one of these when you're fleeing a rampaging dinosaur. The Jurassic World Hot Wheels character cars from Mattel are an innovative mash-up of car and dinosaur. Each car looks like one of the dinosaurs featured in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and we really like the way the designers have interpreted the features of the dinosaurs into the cars. Check out the Triceratops, T-Rex, Mosasaurus, Stegosaurus and Velociraptor Blue.

Some of the details are pretty obvious like the back plates on the Stegaosaurus or the way the neck frill on the Triceratops is integrated into the cab on the truck.  Of course they're freewheeling, high performance toy cars like all Hot Wheels, and we think these will inspire a unique kind of play that's half dino/half Hot Wheels.

The cars are sold individually or in multi-vehicle sets.

Is It Fun?

We love this type of creativity that we've seen before in other Hot Wheels cars, such as those based on the Avengers or Star Wars.

Kids who are fans of the Jurassic World series will certainly find these amusing and a nice addition to a Hot Wheels collection.

Speaking of which, collectors are likely to find these appealing as well.

Who It’s For
These are age-graded for kids 4 and up. They'll be fun for kids who love toy cars and Jurassic World.

Some collectors may find them unusual and intriguing.

What To Be Aware Of

These cars won't work with all Hot Wheels track and playsets.

Most Hot Wheels replica cars are 1:46 scale, but are for these, is that based on the dinosaurs or the vehicles that inspired them?  A full-size Triceratops car would be about two feet long in this scale, for example. So, we're going to guess that they just made it up. Of course we're kidding. These are a great size to integrate with other Hot Wheels and toy vehicles.
