Make your own slow-rise toys with the Alex D.I.Y. Color Me! Sqooshies kits. Whether you want soft and squishy desserts, cuddly animals, or silly emoticons, there's a kit for you. Each kit comes with slow-rise Sqooshies, paint and a paintbrush, glitter, ball chains, and instructions.
Both the Buddy and Emoji kits come with enough supplies for painting and adding glitter to two Sqooshies. With the Buddy kit, it's a pink bunny and a blue bear. And with the Emoji kit, it's a yellow circle and a white swirl.
The Sweets kit comes with enough supplies for painting and adding glitter to three Sqooshies. There's a purple unicorn donut, a pink cupcake, and an aqua ice pop.
Each kit is sold separately. For all of the kits, just paint on the details, sprinkle on the glitter, attach a ball chain, and you can tote your Sqooshies wherever you go.
This is a very creative activity for kids who are obsessed with the slow-rise toy trend. It allows them to design their own soft and squishy toys, just like the ones they clamor to collect. Kids can design these however they want, and then squishing them to watch them rise back to their original shape.
Color Me! Sqooshies are for crafty kids ages 6 and up.
This will be a time-consuming craft because you'll have to allow the paint to dry in between coats, and you'll need at least three coats for full coverage.
It was difficult to remove the plugs inside each paint tube before painting. Be very careful with this step and wear an old shirt to protect your clothes. You'll also want to cover your work space.
