Reach for the stars and have an exploding good time with this game that is all about catching stars. The object of the Pop Rocket Game is to be the first to complete the constellation. Each game comes with one big rocket, one big star, 40 small stars, 12 star-catchers (four sets of three cups in blue, red, yellow and green in colors), 4 constellations, one die and an instruction guide.
To play, simply place the Pop Rocket in the middle. Stuff the large star into the Pop Rocket along with the multiple mini stars, then each player picks a color and places three starcatchers upside down in front of the rocket. The player who can jump the highest goes first to start the game by pulling the rocket's fuse and rolling the die. The die can allow players to put their Star-catchers into play by turning them upright or can change the position of their own or cover another's starcatchers already in play or even allow stars to be stolen from other players. The game plays clockwise and the rocket (or timer) runs approximately 60 seconds, then the rocket will open and release the stars. As soon as the rocket opens, play finishes and a colorful shower of stars flies through the air. The first player to complete their constellation wins the game!
We had a lot of fun with this game. Certainly, the anticipation of the Rocket Timer blasting stars all over the place is a messy fun time. Plus, this game can keep you engaged with the roll of a die allowing for starcatchers as well as stars to be stolen. Also, if one is lucky enough to catch the big star they can choose 2 extra stars for their constellation. It doesn't matter the colors of the mini stars. Any stars can be collected to finish the constellation.
The Pop Rocket game is recommended for ages 4 and up. The game is ideal for 2 to 4 players. We also recommend this game for anyone who loves games, especially games that involve a bit of physical and competitive play.
It is possible for several players to win at the same time. That being said, the game's instructions are a little unclear making first time play a bit challenging.
