Fingerlings UNTAMED Raptors Stealth, Chomp Blaze, and Fury Review (WowWee)

Fingerlings UNTAMED Raptors Stealth, Chomp Blaze, and Fury
What It Is

The UNTAMED Raptors are part of the new UNTAMED by Fingerlings line from WowWee, featuring new finger-ready interactive pets that are bit more ferocious than their predecessors. Here we have the UNTAMED Raptors Stealth, Blaze, and Fury (Razor is also available but not shown here).

Much like the Fingerlings, these new finger pals feature touch point sensors to make these dinosaurs react with more than 40+ built-in sounds. Each raptor features a touch point on its snout and the back of its head. But watch out, because you're now dealing with characters a little less friendly than the Fingerlings monkeys, sloths and unicorns, the wrong gesture can send these raptors from Tamed into UNTAMED mode fast.

Tamed Mode:

In Tamed mode, your Fingerlings will make sweet raptor sounds. You can stroke its head from snout back or forward, tap its nose once, twice, or more in either spot. You can also set your raptor down and clap to it or blow in its face for different reactions, such as a short tune. You can even make your dinosaur fart when you hold both sensors at the same time.

The wrong touch and your raptor might go UNTAMED. For example, shaking your raptor (this one always works!), poking its face one too many times, or hanging it upside down (especially while swinging it) can trigger UNTAMED Mode.

Simply give its a head rub or cradle this baby raptor to soothe it to sleep and back to Tamed Mode.

Is It Fun?

Last year, WowWee introduced us to the wonderful world of Fingerlings, featuring wearable pet monkeys, sloths, and unicorns, but the new UNTAMED creatures further expand the fun. Kids are going to love throwing their new Fingerlings into UNTAMED mode and then lulling back to tamed little dinosaurs. Plus the movements along with their snapping jaws and moving eyes and head add a bit of realism to the toy.

Who It’s For

UNTAMED by Fingerlings Raptors are for ages 5 and up from WowWee. These new interactive pets are going to appeal to kids that already love interactivity of Fingerlings monkeys, sloths, and unicorns. But we also think the more ferocious and unpredictable theme of these Untamed Raptors will invite new kids into the world of Fingerlings.

What To Be Aware Of

One thing to note is that in terms of size, the new UNTAMED Raptors are ever so slightly larger than previous Fingerlings.

There is an On/Off switch located at the back of the raptor's head. Make sure you turn off the toy when not in use.

The toy runs on 4 button cell batteries, which are included. You'll know when it's time to change the batteries when your Untamed Fingerlings starts to slow down and become unresponsive. If you need to swap in some new batteries, you'll need a Phillips screwdriver.
