The Scratcher gives you the freedom to stack, rotate and get creative with the set up of your cat's scratcher. Allowing the product to last longer than standard floor scratchers .
The sturdiness and the height on this tower worked perfectly for both of my cats' size and strength. Which is why when we use it in my home, we preferred the straight stack. With all the modular pieces lining up evenly. But I can also see this being used for smaller cats, or ones that like to lay down and scratch. You can rotate and flip the cardboard clovers and make shapes and towers that are more interesting to engage if your cats are lazy scratchers.
My cats really liked it because they are upward scratchers. As in, they like to sit and get a big base and scratch back and forth. Very similar to the motion cats make when they are "baking bread", "kneading dough", "making muffins", "mashing potatoes". You can call it what you want, but I'm sure you get the idea!
Clean-up with the Scratcher system is easy. But with all cardboard-made scratchers, you will see fall-out pieces from the unit. I found that clearing the base of cardboard scraps and debris once a week was enough to keep the whole system looking fresh and new.
