RobotiKits KIKO.893 Review (OWI)

RobotiKits KIKO.893
What It Is

OWI's Robotikits Kiko.893 is a 107-piece STEM kit, for ages 8+.  It requires 4 AAA batteries, not included. Assembly of the robot took us one hour and 40 minutes. The Kiko.893 employs infrared sensory detection to navigate its way around. It has 6 legs and can swivel a full 360 degrees. The arms are not mechanical but can be moved and posed by hand. Kiko works in two pre-programmed modes: Follow-Me and Explore. With the Follow-Me mode, place your hand in front of Kiko's eyes and move it around. Kiko will follow you. The Explore mode sets Kiko off on his own. He will avoid obstacles, and move through mazes. The Kiko.893 is a great combination of assembly and play. Children will be rewarded for the time they spend building the robot. When playing with Kiko, make sure your hand and obstacles are within view of the eyes - his sensors will miss seeing lower objects.

Is It Fun?
Yes, and very cute. Older kids will enjoy assembling it, but younger will probably find the robot more fun to play with.
