My First Learning Tablet Review (LeapFrog)

My First Learning Tablet
What It Is

Babies and toddlers can have their very own tablet with the My First Learning Tablet from LeapFrog. Through 25 pretend apps and activities and more than 20 songs and melodies, this toy introduces kids to numbers, shapes, colors, letters, and more.

It has a touch-sensitive light-up screen, so similar to what kids see mom and dad doing on a "grown-up" tablet, kids use their finger to swipe the screen left, right, up, or down. Then they touch one of the activity icons to choose an activity to play or to hear phrases, music, and sound effects, depending on the mode. There are three modes: Explore Mode, Learn Mode, and Music Mode. Slide the mode selector at the top of the tablet to choose which mode to play.

There are also five Dock Icons at the bottom of the tablet. Touching the phone, clock, Scout, camera, or music player will activate more phrases and songs about greetings, time concepts, pretend play, and music.

Is It Fun?

This is a cute toy that helps little ones feel big with a tablet all their own. They'll love swiping on the screen and tapping the app icons just like they've seen mom and dad do. But the content on this is all educational with lights and fun sounds that make the learning play fun and engaging. Plus, this is a great size for taking on the go so kids can continue the learning fun in the car, in a waiting room, or at a restaurant.

Who It’s For

My First Learning Tablet is for ages 12 months and up. It will be a fun at-home and on-the-go toy for toddlers to help them with numbers, colors, shapes, and more.
