OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Make the alphabet fun and interactive with Tad's Fridge Phonics. This magnetic letter set comes with 26 letter tiles and three photo frame tiles. When kids place the letter tiles into the electronic unit, they'll hear letter names, words and phrases that begin with the letters, and phonics songs.

Level 1 simply plays the letter name of the letter tile placed in the unit. Level 2 plays the letter name, a word that begins with that letter and a phrase that starts with the letter. And level 3 plays a phonics song that features the letter name and letter sound.

You can cut out your own pictures and place them in the photo frame tiles, and then when you place them in the electronic unit, you'll hear phrases, such as "Rock star daddy!" or "Super sweet mama!"

At any time kids can also press the light-up music button to hear one of two sing-along songs about the alphabet and letter sounds.

The letter tiles also stick to any magnetic surface and can be played with on their own to create words.

Is It Fun?

This is a fun way to bring the alphabet to life for toddlers and preschoolers. Kids will like interacting with the Tad character and even repeating the words and sounds they hear him say. Playing with the letter tiles also helps with fine motor skills, and because the letters on the tiles are raised, it also helps kids develop a sense of each letter's shape.

Who It’s For
