Box of Rocks Review (The Haywire Group)

Box of Rocks
What It Is

You know the phrase "dumber than a box of rocks"? Well, that phrase might be applied to you after you play the trivia game Box of Rocks. That is if you lose the game and the rocks win. And you might be thinking, "Well, how could the rocks be playing the game?" Oh they are. Here's how it works.

The blank rock piece and the human pawn piece start on their respective start places on the game card. The other two marked rocks get placed inside the game box with the lid closed. Then, one player reads one of the three questions on a question card. The answers will always be 0, 1, or 2. The other player or players decide on an answer, and the reader shakes the box and opens the lid to determine what the rocks' answer will be. Then, the correct answer is revealed. Whoever got it right, human or rock, gets to move one space forward on the game card. The first to correctly answer three questions wins.

Is It Fun?

A game where you're competing against rocks? That's just silly! And that's what makes Box of Rocks a little bit different than traditional trivia games. We like that you don't know what answer the rocks will give and that it's all based on the randomness of shaking the box. If you like trivia games, then this one will be easy to learn and fun to add to your next game night. It would even pack up nicely to bring with you for play on the go.

Who It’s For

Box of Rocks is for two or more players ages 12 and up. It's a fun trivia game with the added silliness of the competition against rocks. So if you like trivia games, then this will be a fun one to add to your next game night.

What To Be Aware Of

The game comes with 100 cards with 300 trivia questions, three fake rocks (two numbered, one blank), a wooden human player pawn, and a game card.
