Flies in the Food Truck Review (Hasbro)

Flies in the Food Truck
What It Is

Flies in the Food Truck, from Hasbro Gaming, is a two-player game, for ages 8+. The game comes with 6 bug cards and stands, 15 character cards, and 10 dice. The object of the game is get rid of bugs, and keep lunch safe for all of this food truck's customers. The game is quick to learn and easy to play. Line up the bugs between the two players and start rolling dice. If you've got four of kind, knock over the bug with the corresponding number. For example, if you roll threes, knock over the bug card with 3 olives. The first player to knock over 3 bug cards wins the round, and whoever wins two rounds, wins the game. But don't "fly" away yet - there's more to this game. Before each round each player gets three character cards, and their opponent must play by these rules. For example, if you get the Panicking Pete card, you must use a different body part every time you knock over a bug. And if you get the Doris the Diva card, make sure to clap 3 times and say "bravo" before you knock down any bugs. And wait a second, is Thirsty Thurston actually Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore? Hmm, who knew he was so thirsty? Flies in the Food Truck is fun and competitive. The artwork is cute and whimsical, and I love the green and yellow bug-like dice. There aren't a lot of two-player games, so it's nice to see this one - a lot nicer than seeing a bug in your spaghetti!
