Chippies Chippette Review (WowWee)

Chippies Chippette
What It Is

Chippies makes it seem like you've got a real dog but without the mess. These toy puppies are based on WowWee's robotic dog CHiP, which came out in 2016. Like CHiP, Chippies have a variety of interactive features, but these smaller pups, which include pink dog Chippette, are suited to younger kids. There's a remote control to drive them around, make them sing and dance, and put them in guard dog mode. Or in Free Roam mode, your Chippies pup will roam around and explore on her own.

And depending on how you touch your Chippies' nose, you'll be able to make her lick, sniff, kiss, sneeze, or whimper thanks to a touch sensor.

Plus, there are other silly sounds and fun movements that you can make Chippies do, and the instructions tell you how to use the remote to activate those features. Yes, you can make your puppy fart. And each Chippies pup has poseable hind legs so it can sit.

Is It Fun?

These cute dogs are very easy to control and have a responsive touch sensor, making the interactive features easy to activate for the youngest kids. There's enough interactivity with Chippies to allow those kids to feel like they are really playing with a real dog.

Who It’s For

Chippies Chippette is for ages 5 and up. The pink color of the dog will probably appeal more to girls, but it's also just going to be a fun toy dog for any kid who likes tech toys and robotic toy pets.

What To Be Aware Of

Chippies Chippette comes with one cell battery, but you'll need four AAA batteries, too.

Additional Chippies include a gold-and-black dog named Chippo and a blue dog named Chipper. Each is sold separately.
