OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Keep an eye and ear on baby with the Motorola 2.8-inch Video Baby Monitor with Wi-Fi Internet Viewing. This baby monitor gives you the standard baby monitor system with a baby monitor in your baby's room, a parent unit with color screen, and the option to connect the unit to a free app so you can check in on your baby from wherever you are.

The baby monitor has some side to side and up and down adjustability. It can be mounted on a wall, but mounting tools are not included.

What you see on the parent monitor screen is the signal strength, the temperature in the room you're monitoring, how many baby monitors are connected (you can connect up to four), and the battery life. Lights above the screen illuminate based on the level of sound detected. Parent monitor controls include a power on/off button, volume control, a button to turn the display on and off, a zoom button, a talk button so you can talk to your baby without entering the room, and a menu button. From the menu button you can adjust the screen's contrast, choose one of five different songs for the baby monitor to play, set an alarm, put the video screen on a timer, and more.

And if you download the free Hubble for Motorola Monitors App, you'll be able to monitor your baby from a compatible iOS or Android smartphone, tablet, or computer, plus take photo or video of your baby through the app. You can also talk to your baby through the app, play the built-in music, and receive alerts when sound and motion is detected.

Why Is It Useful?

This is a traditional video baby monitor with some extra features that some parents might want. The two-way communication and zoom features are pretty standard these days on video baby monitors, but this one also has the ability to play soothing music for your baby all controlled from the parent unit. The app is useful if you have a babysitter at home, for instance, but still want to be able to check in on how things are going while you're at work, or if you're a parent who is constantly on his or her phone and wants to use the phone as the main parent unit.

Who It’s For

The 2.8-inch Video Baby Monitor with Wi-Fi Internet Viewing is for adult use. It is not a toy. Parents can use it to keep an eye and ear on their babies during naptime and bedtime.

What To Be Aware Of

The baby monitor plugs into a wall outlet. The parent unit runs on an included rechargeable battery pack. To charge it, plug it into a wall outlet.

The included instructions are Quick Start Guide instructions. You'll want to visit the Motorola website to download the full instructions for use.
