The 3Doodler Start Dinosaurs DoodleBlock Kits from WobbleWorks is a themed expansion pack for the 3Doodler Start 3-D printing pen for kids. The kit comes with two DoodleBlocks themed to the set (dinosaur), 48 strands of 3Doodler Stater eco-plastic in eight different colors, and a guidebook. The Doodleblocks feature outlines for different bones, which kids will piece together to create one of various dinosaur designs featured in the guidebook.
To get started, you will need a 3Doodler Start pen (*sold separately). Then choose a design from the guidebook, insert the Eco-Plastic color of your choice into the pen, and, when ready, start filling in the molds. The molds are mainly used for outlining the different components, so you'll still need to fill them in freehand, which you can do with the design still in the DoodleBlock or after you peel it off. Then follow the steps to piece your creation together.
The time it takes to complete each craft is estimated for each one, however you'll also need to factor in your level of experience working with the 3Doodler Start pen.
We like how this mini kit offers a new way to expand the fun of using and working with the 3Doodler kid-friendly 3-D pen. It's especially handy for those still learning and/or looking for inspiration. This kit especially does a great job at taking the age-old activity of dinosaur model-building and turns it into a 21st Century craft.
The 3Doodler Start is also one of, if not the easiest and safety 3-D pen for kids we've tested. With so many supplies and inspiration included, there is a lot of repeat play value to this product.
The 3Doodler Start Dinosaurs DoodleBlock Kit is for ages 8 and up. The kit will especially appeal to dinosaur fans, offering a unique way to construct models of some pretty cool looking dinosaurs. It will also appeal to crafty kids that are looking for new inspiration and ideas on what to create next with their 3Doodler Start pen.
When working on filling in the molds for this kit, we suggest removing them from the blocks once the outlines have dried. This is because many of the pieces will be reflected, such as the feet.
Pay close attention to the shape you need to create on the blocks. Some can be a bit tricky to decipher since the DoodleBlocks and/or shapes aren't coded in the guide or on the block.
When using the ecoplastic, be aware that you must finish using a colored stick before you can start working with a new color. This can be a bit frustrating when trying to create a multi-color creature or working with smaller elements.
Additional 3Doodler supplies are sold separately including this pen.
