OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

The Shimmer and Shine Magical Light-Up Genie Palace from Fisher-Price stands over 2.5-feet tall. The genie palace play set has lights and sounds, and opens to reveal three levels of play. Over 20 play pieces, and two dolls are included. There are 6-inch posable Shimmer, and Shine dolls, nine Genie Gems, two beds, a couch, a bathtub, a vanity, a refrigerator that opens, a table, a teapot, and two teacups. The 6-inch posable Shimmer and Shine dolls allow fans of the Nick Jr. series to play out all kinds of adventures for the genies in training. The palace is sound activated, and responds with over 100 phrases, sounds, and songs plus lights when kids clap their hands. The features can also be activated by pressing different buttons located in the palace. There are a lot of details inspired by the series like the Genie Gems, a magic mirror with Princess Samira, and even the voice of the sneaky sorceress, Zeta. Kids can help Shimmer and Shine explore, and unlock the power of magic. They can decorate the palace, take a bubble bath, have a genie dance party or tea party, check out the view of Zahramay Falls from the balconies, and of course, attempt to grant wishes. Adult assembly is required and it took our TTPM builder over 30 minutes to complete. Three AA batteries are also required. A switch in the back allows kids to play with the lights and sounds on, just the lights, or neither.
