Talking on walkie talkies during the day is fun, but sometimes your missions require the cover of darkness. Then what do you do? You get the Discovery Kids Night Talkies. These are walkie talkies with built-in flashlights.
This set of two walkie talkies have a green and black design with two easy-to-push buttons on the side. One of the buttons turns on the flashlight when you press and hold it, while the other button allows you to talk and transmit your message to your friend when you press and hold it. Make sure you release the "push to talk" button so you can hear incoming messages from the other walkie talkie.
With the built-in flashlight, these walkie talkies will be ideal for when kids want to play outside as the sun starts to set or for when it's lights out at a sleepover but the guests aren't quite tired just yet. We just wish we could say that the transmission of messages worked as well as the flashlight. While we got these walkie talkies to work up to 20 feet away, they are very staticky, and sometimes that sound is a little too loud.
The Discovery Kids Night Talkies are for ages 5 and up. Kids will like using them to communicate on all sorts of imaginative adventures during the day and in the dark.
Each walkie talkie uses three AAA batteries, which are not included.
It's recommended that if kids are playing in the dark, they have adult supervision.
We got these walkie talkies to work up to 20 feet apart, but they have a very loud static sound.
