This game can change at a moment's notice. Batman Fluxx is a Batman-themed version of the Fluxx card game. It features popular Batman heroes, villains, vehicles, objects, and locations on the cards, but the gameplay is pretty much the same. Everyone gets dealt three cards and takes a turn drawing one card and playing one card until one player meets the Goal and wins.
If you've never played Fluxx before, well, you'll definitely want to read through the instructions. It starts out easy, but as more cards get played, different things start to happen that make the play more complex.
For instance, there are New Rule cards that change the number of cards drawn or played each turn. There are Keeper cards, which are good things to have because you might need them in order to win, and some of them have special powers that you can use on a turn. When you play an Action card, you simply do the action listed on the card. These actions can cause major chaos or have no effect at all.
There are also Creeper cards, which are not cards that you want because they prevent you from winning, and Surprise cards that can be played any time even when it's not your turn.
Keep in mind that a Goal can change at any time. All you have to do is play a new Goal card and the previous one gets discarded. Goals include having Alfred plus Bruce Wayne or Batman, or having any two cards showing Batman's toys, such as Batman cuffs, the Batcomputer, the Batmobile, and the Batarang. But once a player meets the conditions of the current goal, that player wins instantly, no matter whose turn it is.
This game is actually fun and not that hard, despite the long page of instructions to read through. You just have to pay attention because the rules are going to change, the goal is going to change, and that's all part of the fun of the game. Hence the name of the game. It's going to be a fun strategy card game for anyone who likes these types of games and for Batman fans.
Batman Fluxx is for two to six players ages 8 and up. Fans of the original Fluxx card game who are also Batman fans will like the theme of this card game. But any Batman fan who just likes a good strategy card game will enjoy playing this one.
The game instructions may seem daunting, but the game really does make sense once you start to play.
