Magnetic Creation Station Review (Lakeshore)

Magnetic Creation Station
What It Is

Build and create like never before with the Magnetic Creation Station. This is a magnetic construction set, only the metal pieces aren't magnetic. On their own, they don't stick together at all. Only when they are placed on the magnetic building base are they charged with any magnetic properties.

The set includes 35 metal building pieces: 11 red hexagonal prisms, nine rectangular prisms, six squares, five trapezoids, and four gold hexagons. Follow the instructions to use these pieces and build 11 different things on the magnetic base, such as a train and a flower, or come up with your own designs.

The instruction booklet also offers some information about how magnets work as well as other experiments kids can do with the metal pieces.

Is It Fun?

This is a unique construction set in that it's magnetic construction without actual magnets. But it uses the power of magnetism and gives kids a hands-on way to explore and experiment with this scientific concept. Plus, it encourages kids to get creative and come up with their own fun structures and models on the building base.

Who It’s For

The Magnetic Creation Station is for ages 4 and up. It's a fun construction set that introduces the power of magnetism in a creative way.

What To Be Aware Of

It's pretty easy to follow the pictures in the instruction booklet to recreate the models shown, and of course, kids can come up with their own ideas for what they want to create. For the younger kids, some adult assistance may be required, especially when it comes to reading the instructions and imparting the information on how magnets work.

This is available exclusively at and Lakeshore stores.
