Kamigami Robots Lina Review (Mattel)

Kamigami Robots Lina
What It Is

These buildable bugs are all about battles! That's the premise behind the new toy line Kamigami Robots, buildable robots that kids simply assemble by folding and snapping together flat sheets of durable plastic pieces to create the 3-D bug robots. One of those robots is the ladybug Lina.

After you build Lina, open up the free Kamigami Robots app where you can program a whole sequence of movement, lights, and sounds for the robot under the Code section. It's as easy as choosing the action you want, dragging and dropping it where you want it, and then pressing "run code" to watch Lina perform the sequence.

You can also use the app as a remote control via the Run section or make Lina dance in the Dance section.

And if you have a friend with a Kamigami Robot, you can play Tag or Battle, using the app as the remote.

As you play with your robot and the app, you'll unlock achievements, which can be viewed in the section marked by the trophy.

Is It Fun?

This is a pretty cool build-it-yourself robot that is easy to control and fun to play with. Kids will like that they can program it to do different things, just drive it around like they would any remote-control toy, and battle with a friend. For any kid with an interest in robotic toys and construction toys, this will be a fun and satisfying DIY robotics kit that also introduces kids to basic STEM concepts.

Who It’s For

Kamigami Robots Lina is for ages 8 and up. It will be fun for kids with an interest in robotics and construction toys.
