OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

What do you get when you cross a Kendama, a yo-yo, and the toy company Zing? A Zing Dama! This new toy challenges your skills in a fun way. It's made up of four parts: a ball attached to a string attached to an adjustable strap attached to a ring cup. Wear the ring cup on your finger (or fingers, if you're a beginner), and swing the ball from the string. Then, try to catch the ball in the cup. Once you get the hang of it, you can start to try doing different tricks, including trying to catch the ball in one of the ring cups other ball holders. There are nine places to catch the ball. As you play, both the ring cup and the ball light up.

This is available in blue, green, and red. Each version is sold separately.

Is It Fun?

This looks cool, though it's definitely challenging. Of course, trying to catch the ball in the cup is what the play is all about, and kids (or adults) who enjoy these types of skill-and-action games will have fun figuring out how to make that happen and then making up cool tricks and stunts with their Zing Damas. Plus, it just looks really cool to swing this around in the dark.

Who It’s For

Zing Dama is for ages 4 and up. But we think that people of all ages will have fun testing their skill with this light-up toy.

What To Be Aware Of

The lights run on non-rechargeable batteries.
