Star Wars Force Link Poe's Boosted X-Wing Fighter Review (Hasbro)

Star Wars Force Link Poe's Boosted X-Wing Fighter
What It Is

Disney and Hasbro bring us Poe Dameron's Boosted X-Wing Fighter from Star Wars Episode 8 - The Last Jedi.

This X-wing originally appeared in Star Wars Episode 7 - The Force Awakens and it has been reboxed for the new movie and a new feature has been added called Force Link Technology to bring the galaxy to life. Sort of. When combined with wearable Force Link Technology not included and sold separately, you'll hear phrases and motion controlled sounds that can be unlocked in over 30 new Star Wars toys. Included in the box is a firing missile and 3 and 3/4 inch Resistance Pilot Poe Dameron with removable helmet and weapon.

Poe fits inside the cockpit and is ready for flight. The wings will open when you push down on the attached BB8, though BB8 is not removable. To close the wings simply pull back on the button behind BB8. There are magnets in wings to help them stay in place. To fire the projectile, push the trigger underneath the cockpit. Some assembly is required but it's quite simple and should only take a few minutes.

This X- Wing is made of tough plastic and has durability that will probably sustain more wear and tear as a play line toy, but to the collectors - this is definitely not like Star Wars ships of old.  Included are small stickers, which you or a steady and slightly smaller handed fan can place inside the cockpit, but note that they can be a bit tricky to place correctly. No batteries are necessary.  Recommended for ages 4 and up this X-Wing will help young Jedi Padawans create adventures of their own.

Is It Fun?

Kids will enjoy replaying scenes from the Star Wars films or creating their own adventures with this cool X-Wing and it's pilot. Sold separately, Force Link Wearable Technology can be used to add a new feature of sound to this play line toy.

Who It’s For

This X-Wing is for young fans of the Star Wars Saga ages 5 years old and up. This is definitely a play line toy and and has the durability for younger hands. Unlike Star Wars toys created by Hasbro in the past, I would not really recommended for high end collectors of the series.

What To Be Aware Of

There are small stickers included that need to be placed in the cockpit of the ship. They are difficult to place correctly. Though this toy is compatible with Force Link Technology, it does not make the sounds on it's own.  A Force Link Technology device must be purchased separately to make this added function work.
