LEGO Creator Turbo Track Racer Review (LEGO)

LEGO Creator Turbo Track Racer
What It Is

LEGO fans will definitely want to get behind the wheel of the LEGO Creator Turbo Track Racer, model number 31070. This three-in-one build comes with 664 pieces for building three different vehicles one at a time.

The main model is the Turbo Track Racer, a light blue car with white racing stripe and low profile real-rolling tires. When you push down on the rear spoiler, the car doors open. But they don't just open like regular car doors. They open up instead of out. This reveals a vehicle interior with racing steering wheel, speedometer, moving gear shift, emergency brake lever, and adjustable yellow-and-gray racing seats. You can also open up the hood of the car to find two tools and open up the transparent hatch to see the engine.

When you're done racing in this mode, you can also rebuild it into a Cool Blue Racer or, for a different way to play, a Forklift Truck.

Is It Fun?

This is one detail-packed LEGO car, from all of the interior features to the cool new look of the low-profile tires. LEGO fans will have fun building this sleek racecar and then rolling it around on all sorts of racing adventures. It would also make a nice display piece for older LEGO fans. And, of course, because you can rebuild it into two other models, it's a versatile construction set that will inspire a lot of imaginative play.

Who It’s For

The LEGO Creator Turbo Track Racer set is for ages 9 to 12. LEGO fans will really like the cool features of this racecar and rebuilding it into other just as feature-rich vehicles.

What To Be Aware Of

It took our Master Builder two hours to build the Turbo Track Racer. The instructions were a little difficult to follow.

You can only build one model at a time. So if you build the Turbo Track Racer and want to build the Forklift Truck, you'll need to disassemble the Turbo Track Racer.
