LEGO Star Wars: The Last Jedi First Order Star Destroyer Review (LEGO)

LEGO Star Wars: The Last Jedi First Order Star Destroyer
What It Is

As part of the release of new toys based on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, LEGO has released a massive 1,416-piece set that challenges you to build your very own First Order Star Destroyer, set 75190. The First Order Star Destroyer looks like a more streamlined evolution of the ships from the original trilogy, and one of the interesting aspects of the new trilogy is how it reintroduces classic ships in new forms and color schemes.

Within this set, you'll find six minifigures, including a First Order Officer, First Order Shuttle Pilot, First Order Stormtrooper, First Order Stormtrooper Sergeant, a new droid BB-9E and Supreme Leader Snoke. This is a pretty good look at Snoke, although the blockiness of LEGO makes it hard to really see his features. As an added bonus, there's also a holographic mini-minifigure that Snoke can speak with.

Building the Star Destroyer took our expert builder about two and 1/2 hours, but a less experienced builder will likely need more time due to the set's complexity. Construction is only half the fun though, and once completed, this ship is packed with features. When closed, there are eight different blasters - four on each side of the ship - you can use to project green LEGO dots in an effort to destroy enemies. And, a hook raises that you can grab onto to offer control when flying or displaying the closed Star Destroyer.

When opened, the Star Destroyer turns into a giant playset with a raising elevator platform and an entire bridge area where Snoke can plot his next evil move.

Is It Fun?
This is the largest LEGO set released for The Last Jedi. It's complexity and design also make it the best of the line. Infinitely fun, this set offers a lot of challenges and as many rewards once completed.
Who It’s For

Due to the number of pieces and complexity of the set, the Star Destroyer is recommended for ages 9 years and up and both kids and collectors will love adding this First Order capital ship to their fleet.

What To Be Aware Of

This construction set is on the challenging side, so younger builders may not be able to complete it. And, while the firing bolts and studs are great to play with, they can be lost easily.
