LEGO Creator Space Shuttle Explorer Review (LEGO)

LEGO Creator Space Shuttle Explorer
What It Is

Your LEGO play will be out of this world with the LEGO Creator Space Shuttle Explorer construction set, model number 31066. This is a 3-in-1 build with 285 pieces for building first a space shuttle and then rebuilding into a space rover and a moon station. The set also comes with an astronaut minifigure with removable jetpack.

The main model is the space shuttle, and it features an opening payload bay with a robotic arm and satellite with fold-out wings, three large engines, and a minifigure cockpit with tinted canopy.

The moon station has a detailed interior with control panel and robotic arm, and the space rover has an opening cockpit and drilling arm.

Is It Fun?

This is a pretty cool LEGO set for kids or adults who are interested in space. The color scheme and look of the space shuttle closely resembles that of the real space shuttles used at NASA, giving it an authentic feel and helping kids play out a space shuttle launch and mission. The ability to rebuild the space shuttle into two other models gives this construction set versatility and continues the space mission storyline.

Who It’s For

The LEGO Creator Space Shuttle Explorer is for ages 7 to 12, and will be fun for kids or even older LEGO fans who like space.

What To Be Aware Of

It took us 40 minutes to build the space shuttle model, and the instructions were easy to follow.

There are three models to build with this set, but you can only build one at a time. So if you build the space shuttle and want to build the moon station, you have to take apart the space shuttle.
